Los perfiles U de aluminio, también conocidos como canales U, son perfiles extruidos de sección abierta con una base y dos alas laterales. Se utilizan como guías, alojamientos, remates y soportes para paneles, mobiliario y cerramientos. Se especifican por el ancho de la base, la altura de las alas, el espesor y la longitud. Para alojar placas u otras piezas, es fundamental comprobar el ancho interior útil.
